Intruder Foiled: Tension Brews at LoC

A Pakistani intruder was killed during an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district. The incident unfolded on Tuesday when army troops detected suspicious movements near the forward positions in the Krishna Ghati sector, prompting a swift military response.

Officials disclosed that the confrontation occurred roughly 300 meters inside Indian territory, underscoring the continued volatility in the region. The troops engaged the perpetrators in a gunfight that led to the neutralization of the intruder, believed to be part of a Lashkar-e-Taiba group, as they attempted to cross the border near Bicho Post in the Mankote area.

On Wednesday, the army retrieved the intruder's body and handed it over to the police for further legal proceedings. This incident highlights the persistent challenges faced by security forces in maintaining the sanctity of the LoC and deterring cross-border terrorism activities.
