Revamping Safety and Governance: Agnimitra Paul’s Vision for West Bengal

In a bold stance on women's safety, West Bengal minister Agnimitra Paul affirmed the state government's commitment to ensuring women can move freely at any hour, with their complaints prioritized by police. Speaking post-oath at the Assembly, Paul pinpointed the swift introduction of CCTV monitoring across civic bodies for transparency and corruption control.

Addressing the media, she criticized past governance for limiting women's safety, referencing a past remark by former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Paul assured women of their right to mobility at all times, insisting on the priority treatment of their complaints and advocating for the filing of zero FIRs.

She further vowed to eliminate illegal toll plazas and cease unlawful activities like sand and coal extraction. Upcoming municipal elections, the launch of an online portal for the Lakshmir Bhandar scheme, and actions against unauthorized buildings to avert incidents like the recent Tiljala fire were also discussed.
