The Supreme Court on Thursday advised Rani Kapur and Priya Kapur, embroiled in a contentious family trust dispute, to avoid actions that could impede mediation. The apex court appointed former Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud to mediate.
During the proceedings, a bench of Justices J B Pardiwala and Ujjal Bhuyan discussed an application from 80-year-old Rani Kapur. Her concerns revolved around a scheduled board meeting of Raghuvanshi Investment Pvt Ltd, where crucial appointments were to be made.
The Supreme Court urged restraint, postponing appointments related to the company's directors until mediation progress is assessed, and set a follow-up hearing for August 6. Compliance with RBI directives remains non-mandatory during the proceedings.
