Alamgir Alam, a former minister in Jharkhand, was released from Birsa Munda Jail following bail approval by the Supreme Court in a high-profile money laundering case.

The Enforcement Directorate arrested Alam on May 15, 2024, after uncovering Rs 32 crore in cash during an investigation into a tender scam involving his associates.

Previously, Alam's request for bail was denied by the Jharkhand High Court due to the gravity of the charges. However, the Supreme Court's decision now grants him much-needed relief.
