Maharashtra Cabinet's Multifold Strategy: Enhancing Infrastructure and Reviving Agriculture

The Maharashtra cabinet on Thursday approved several key initiatives aimed at boosting water storage, aiding farmers, and restructuring government departments. The revised silt removal policy from irrigation reservoirs is set to increase storage, while offering nutrient-rich silt to farmers.

In a major administrative overhaul, the cabinet sanctioned 8,767 posts in the Soil and Water Conservation Department, highlighting its focus on sustainable development. Further, significant financial provisions were made for infrastructure projects, including the Amboli-Velunje diversion scheme, along with cultural support initiatives like an annual grant to the Kusumagraj Pratishthan.

Policy amendments were also approved, providing better job structures for reserved categories and educational reforms for teachers in Ashram schools, aiming to enhance service conditions and support regional growth. The cabinet's comprehensive strategy seeks to balance development with social inclusivity, aiming at holistic state progress.
