Delhi Police Cracks Down on Counterfeit Clothing Racket in Naraina
The Delhi Police have dismantled a counterfeit garment manufacturing operation in Naraina Industrial Area, seizing over 3,400 fake branded jeans and related materials. In a significant operation, the Delhi Police have successfully dismantled a counterfeit garment racket operating in the Naraina Industrial Area of west Delhi. Authorities seized over 3,400 fake branded jeans, along with forged labels, packaging materials, and industrial stitching machines. This move followed a complaint regarding the distribution of counterfeit garments designed to mimic renowned international brands.
According to police, a case was filed at the Naraina police station after securing authorization from the competent authority. Following this, search and seizure warrants were obtained under Section 96 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), allowing police to conduct simultaneous raids at four locations on May 12. Authorized representatives of the complainant companies joined the raids, confirming the items seized were indeed counterfeit.
The operation yielded substantial quantities of fake jeans, including brands like Levi's, Zara, Calvin Klein, and Tommy Hilfiger. Arrests have been made, including the apprehension of one Rishab Garg. As investigations continue, police aim to dismantle the wider network supporting the illegal trade of counterfeit clothing.
