In a powerful address at the R N Kao Memorial Lecture, Union Home Minister Amit Shah called for a concerted global effort to combat drug trafficking. Shah highlighted the need for uniform laws to tackle drug syndicates effectively and prevent the rise of 'Narco-States'.

Speaking to an audience comprising diplomats from over 40 countries, Shah reiterated India's commitment to eradicating drug abuse by 2047, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. He urged immediate international collaboration to standardize laws, enhance intelligence sharing, and facilitate extradition of drug kingpins.

Shah stressed that fragmented approaches undermine the fight against drugs, which not only affects public health but also national security. He called for coordinated global efforts to dismantle narcotics networks, emphasizing the critical need for a collective resolve in this endeavor.
