A tragic incident unfolded in Uttar Pradesh's Shahjahanpur district as a woman and her nephew were electrocuted while drawing water from a hand pump. The police reported that the unfortunate event occurred in Hasanapur village, under the jurisdiction of Khudaganj police station.

The victims, identified as Ranna Devi, 38, and her nephew Vivek, 19, were attempting to fetch water when a short circuit passed an electric current through the pump. As Devi began to fill her vessel, she was struck by the current, leading to a struggle witnessed by her nephew. In a brave attempt to save his aunt, Vivek also fell victim to the fatal current.

Neighbors reacted quickly, stopping the power and alerting the family. Despite rapid transport to the hospital, both victims succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead on arrival. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident to determine the cause and prevent future tragedies.
