The son of Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Bageerath, was apprehended on Saturday night in connection with a POCSO case. He was later remanded to judicial custody by a magistrate. According to police sources, Bageerath was located and arrested by the Special Operations Team in Manchirevula.
Earlier, a lookout circular had been issued against Bageerath, prompting police searches across the nation. Statements from the alleged 17-year-old victim and her mother were documented to ensure they remain consistent during the trial. Despite his father's guidance to cooperate, Bageerath continues to assert his innocence.
In a political twist, TRS president K Kavitha has called for the removal of Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar to ensure an impartial investigation. Meanwhile, the Telangana High Court has denied Bageerath's request for interim protection, intensifying the legal proceedings.
