In a recent statement, PMK leader Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss called on the Tamil Nadu government to formalize employment and ensure timely salaries for home guards across the state.
According to Ramadoss, despite a Supreme Court mandate to provide full-month employment with a set wage of Rs 16,800, Tamil Nadu has yet to comply, falling behind states like Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.
He emphasized the critical role of home guards in law enforcement, especially amid rising vacancies in the police force and increased initiatives on drug eradication and women's safety by the current administration.
