Goa has successfully completed the inaugural phase of Census 2027, employing a mobile app for House Listing Operations across its urban and rural regions, as confirmed by officials on Monday.
Held over a month, from April 16 to May 15, the operation covered a thorough enumeration of residences, families, and associated facilities throughout the coastal state. Extensive training for enumerators and supervisors preceded the exercise, ensuring adept use of digital tools and methodologies.
The move towards tech-driven census practices aims to enhance transparency, accuracy, and data management efficiency. Gratitude was expressed by the Directorate of Census Operations for public cooperation and efforts by officials and personnel. The collected data will underpin infrastructure development and welfare schemes. Upcoming plans for the next census stage, focusing on population data, will be detailed soon.
