Youth Arrested for Alleged Abduction and Rape in Ballia
A Goa-based young man, Chhotu, has been arrested for allegedly abducting and raping his 16-year-old cousin. In a disturbing case, police have taken into custody a Goa-based youth for allegedly abducting and raping his teenage cousin, an official reported this Monday.
The incident, which reportedly occurred on May 9, led to the arrest of 19-year-old Chhotu following a complaint by the victim's mother on May 11. The accused is her brother's son.
According to Station House Officer (SHO) Ajay Kumar Tripathi from Maniyar police station, the arrest took place on Sunday after the girl was rescued in Ballia on Saturday. The accused faces charges under multiple sections of the BNS and POCSO Act, based on the victim's statement.
