In a move to expand public employment opportunities, the West Bengal government announced an increase in the upper age limit for state government jobs by five years.
The revision affects Group A, B, C, and D posts recruited through the West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC). The decision, effective from May 11, aligns with the government's sankalpa patra promises.
For positions recruited via channels outside the public service commission, the age limit is uniformly set at 45 years. The College Service Commission's current recruitment process for assistant professors will reflect these changes, extending application deadlines for new candidates.
