A startling new report by the Association for Democratic Reforms and Kerala Election Watch highlights significant concerns about the composition of Kerala's new cabinet. For the Congress-led UDF, which recently regained power in Kerala after a decade, the report suggests controversy.
The analysis reveals that 90% of the ministers, based on self-submitted affidavits, have pending criminal cases. Among them, a noteworthy 70% face serious charges, casting doubt on their legal integrity. Additionally, a significant portion of these ministers, 75%, are identified as crorepatis, with average assets of Rs 6.32 crore.
These findings prompt critical questions about transparency and ethical governance within Kerala's leadership, balancing between wealth, legal controversies, and the commitment to public service.
