A somber discovery was made along the Noyyal riverbanks, where the body of 13-year-old B Thivish was found, authorities reported on Monday. His two friends, minors aged 15 and 13, have been charged in connection with the tragic event, suspected to be a murder case.
Thivish, a Pudhu Colony resident, vanished on May 15 after reportedly leaving home with his friends to fish near Irugur. His father subsequently reported him missing at Singanallur police station. Initially, the friends misled police, claiming Thivish had joined someone on a scooter.
However, an intensive interrogation uncovered a chilling confession from the older boy, who admitted to striking Thivish with a liquor bottle after volatile remarks regarding a parent. The incident left Thivish unconscious, resulting in the minors fleeing the scene. Authorities are actively pursuing further investigations.
