Driver's Downfall: Greed Leads to Arrest Over $47.28 Lakh Theft

In a dramatic turn of events, Gurugram police have apprehended a driver accused of absconding with a sum of money entrusted to him by his employer. Vinay Kumar, 35, was discovered in Uttar Pradesh with cash and gold, following allegations of theft.
Kumar, originally from Delhi's Ambedkar Nagar and residing in Faridabad, was meant to deliver around Rs 47.28 lakh to a location in Sector-49. However, he chose to flee with the money on April 30, leading to a police complaint filed on May 3.
Authorities discovered that Kumar, who had been employed by the complainant for two years, was motivated by greed. During his arrest, Kumar was found in possession of 160 grams of gold, a substantial amount of cash, and an iPhone, purchased with the stolen funds.
