Rekha Gupta, Delhi's Chief Minister, instructed government officials to ensure welfare schemes outlined in the budget are executed transparently and on schedule. This directive came during a video conference meeting with department heads while she worked from home as part of a fuel-saving initiative.
Gupta emphasized the government's commitment to turning announcements into reality for public benefit. Departments may face financial cuts in future budgets if they fail to utilize current allocations effectively. Departments were also urged to regularly review and report on projects, with updates on pending initiatives to be uploaded on the PM Pragati portal.
In the meeting, Gupta reviewed departments' biometric attendance, grievance redressal processes, and various development projects. She mandated coordination among departments to ensure timely results and ordered the completion of budget goals ahead of the monsoon, focusing on drain desilting to prevent waterlogging.
Gupta appealed to citizens to safeguard themselves during the heatwave and encouraged care for animals and birds by providing water and shade. The meeting also covered solar power initiatives, water conservation, and the use of social media for public engagement, alongside a comprehensive progress review of governmental projects.
