A violent robbery took place in Gayaji, Bihar, where a jeweller named Prabhakar Kumar Barnwal was shot and robbed of gold and silver ornaments valued at Rs 40 lakh. The police reported the incident occurred on Wednesday evening in the Gurua market.

The attackers, arriving on motorcycles, fired at Barnwal before escaping with the valuables. Despite sustaining injuries, Barnwal is now out of danger after being treated at Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital. Police Chief Vinay Kumar stated they are treating the incident with utmost seriousness.

The police have increased security in the region and are conducting raids to apprehend the perpetrators. In protest against the incident, local traders closed their shops, demanding swift justice and recovery of the stolen goods. Magadh Range IG Vikas Vaibhav has been tasked with overseeing the investigation and supporting the victim's family.
