Authorities in Delhi have petitioned the High Court to rescind bail granted to a teacher involved in a suspected sexual assault incident at a Janakpuri school. This follows an earlier trial court ruling, dated May 20, which temporarily freed the teacher from custody.
The case centers on allegations of a sexual assault on a young student by Lalit Kumar, the main accused, who was similarly granted bail. The teacher is accused of failing to report the incident. Both cases will be reviewed in court on June 17.
On April 30, the child reportedly suffered an assault during school hours, an incident she recounted to her mother. Police actions swiftly followed, culminating in Kumar's arrest. Despite his identification by the victim, his bail has prompted significant backlash from the prosecution.
