In a significant breakthrough, customs authorities have apprehended a 23-year-old man from Jaipur as part of 'Operation Numkhor', a comprehensive investigation targeting illegal imports of luxury vehicles. The operation, which scrutinizes the smuggling and registration of Bhutanese SUVs and MUVs in India, has led to the arrest of several individuals across multiple states.

The suspect, identified as Yash, is accused of collaborating with previously detained suspects like Biswadip Das and Zain Marva. Authorities have revealed that Yash was instrumental in brokering the sale of these illegal vehicles via social media, thereby acting as a crucial link between sellers and buyers. Furthermore, he allegedly owned more than two of such smuggled vehicles, reflecting the depth of his involvement. His arrest on May 27 underlines a widening investigation into the illicit trade, as the total number of apprehended individuals reaches seven.

Customs officials stress that investigation findings will be shared with pertinent agencies to foster coordinated efforts in dismantling the smuggling network. The ongoing probe continues to uncover layers of the unlawful operation, promising further developments.
