An investigation into what seemed like a tragic accident in Bhubaneswar has revealed a shocking murder plot tied to a love triangle, resulting in the arrest of six individuals. Police disclosed that the death of 24-year-old engineering student Barenya Rautaray was not an accident, but a deliberate act.
The incident occurred when an SUV rammed into Rautaray's motorcycle near Acharya Harihar College Square. The police noted that initial assessments classified the event as a road mishap; however, further examination pointed to intentional foul play stemming from personal conflict.
Rautaray had been in a relationship with a woman previously engaged with the main suspect, Suraj Biswakarma. Their rivalry allegedly culminated in the planned crash. Despite a seemingly resolved dispute earlier that night, Biswakarma and his associates pursued Rautaray and his friends, leading to the fatal encounter.
The police have taken into custody all six accused, including Biswakarma and the vehicle's owner, with investigations still ongoing. Jagmohan Meena, DCP of Bhubaneswar, emphasized the premeditated nature of the crime linked to past enmity.
