A food safety operation in Udaipur led to the seizure of 18,000 litres of suspected adulterated ghee, after officials discovered the use of yellow food colouring during their inspections. The raid focused on addressing complaints about food adulteration and was conducted at various locations in the district.

The team from the Food Safety Commissionerate visited Shri Madhur Dairy Farm and Food Products, uncovering numerous brands like 'Udaipur Fresh Desi Ghee' and 'Jayant Cow Ghee'. They found improperly labeled containers, suggesting non-compliance with safety regulations. Officials confiscated the ghee and temporarily banned its sale pending testing.

Additionally, another inspection was carried out at a private company, where over 42,000 kg of various dairy products were identified. The investigation into these stocks is ongoing to ensure adherence to safety standards. This move aims to safeguard public health and maintain food quality.
