In a significant development, Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Asif announced that Pakistan is prepared to ease tensions with India, contingent on New Delhi's de-escalation of the situation. The statement was made during an appearance on Bloomberg Television on Wednesday.
The announcement comes shortly after India conducted military strikes targeting terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, a retaliation for the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. Minister Asif stated that while Pakistan is committed to not initiating hostilities, the country will respond if provoked.
Minister Asif also remarked on the lack of potential diplomatic talks between the two nations, indicating there are currently no known plans for such engagements. The situation remains tense as both nations stand firm on their respective positions.
