Pakistan Proposes De-escalation Amid Rising Tensions with India
The tensions between Pakistan and India have escalated following India's military strike on terror targets in Pakistan. Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Asif expressed readiness to de-escalate if India reciprocates. Both countries reported casualties, and India announced measures against Pakistan. Dialogue possibilities remain uncertain.

The recent military strike by India on terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir has intensified tensions between the neighboring countries. Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Asif stated that his nation is prepared to de-escalate tensions provided India steps back from its aggressive stance.
The strike, which was in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack that left 26 dead, prompted fierce reactions on both sides. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan declared the right to respond robustly to what he called an act of war by India.
In response, India announced several punitive measures, including suspending the Indus Waters Treaty and downgrading diplomatic ties. The potential for dialogue between the two nations remains unknown as tensions simmer.
