In the wake of heightened India-Pakistan tensions, Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tej Pratap Yadav has declared his commitment to the nation, drawing on his pilot training. Through a social media post, Yadav expressed his willingness to sacrifice his life for the country's service.
Yadav's declaration comes as the Indian Army countered Pakistan's unprovoked small-arms and artillery fire on the night of May 7-8 across the Line of Control near Kupwara, Baramulla, Uri, and Akhnoor in Jammu and Kashmir. This retaliatory action follows a series of ceasefire violations by Pakistan.
The current hostilities intensified after the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam. The Indian Army's Operation Sindoor targeted terror infrastructure in response, leading to severe civilian casualties from Pakistani fire in regions like Poonch and Tangdhar, as reported by defense sources.
