Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan following Operation Sindoor, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Nishikant Dubey has urged the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to restrict social media accounts displaying what he terms a 'Pakistani mentality'. Dubey argues that wartime conditions limit freedom of expression.
Congress MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla has advised constituents in Amritsar to stay calm in light of military exercises causing airport closures until May 10. Assuring the public that the Indian Army is poised to address any situation, Aujla emphasizes there is no need for panic buying.
On the ground, the Indian Army has responded proportionately to unprovoked firing from the Pakistani Army across the Line of Control (LoC) on May 7-8. This follows heightened aggression post-Operation Sindoor, with Indian forces targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan. Civilian casualties have been reported amid the artillery exchange.
