Lance Naik Dinesh Kumar of the 5-Field Regiment tragically lost his life in the recent Pakistani shelling along the Line of Control in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir.
The 32-year-old soldier hailed from a village in Palwal district, Haryana, joining the Indian Army in 2014. He is survived by his wife and two young children, according to his father, Daya Chand.
Kumar was one of 13 people killed during the intense artillery and mortar shelling by Pakistan in retaliation to India's 'Operation Sindoor.' The Poonch sector in Jammu faced the brunt of the attack, marking one of the most severe incidents in recent years.
