Civil aviation authorities are on high alert as Pakistani drones were detected near the heavily-guarded Jammu airport on Thursday evening, sources confirmed. The detection caused panic after sounds resembling blasts were heard in Jammu city.
Officials stated that it is not immediately clear if the Jammu airport, which includes an Indian Air Force station, is under direct attack. Despite this, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) along with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) are closely monitoring flight operations.
Sources revealed that while flight operations remain normal at the Delhi airport, around 27 airports across the country have been closed following Operation Sindoor. This military action involved strikes on terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir as retaliation for the deadly Pahalgam terror attack that claimed at least 26 lives last month.
