Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has taken a sharp jab at Uddhav Thackeray, the rival Shiv Sena (UBT) president, accusing him of vacationing in Europe while party workers languish 'in coma.'
At a recent party gathering, Shinde drew parallels to the revolt of 2022 citing the Bhagavad Gita, asserting that the uprising was spurred not by political ambition, but by a desire to uphold the late Balasaheb Thackeray's values and the party's iconic bow and arrow symbol. Integrity, he argued, is more critical than power.
In a strategic boost, Preeti Sanjay Band, widow of the former Shiv Sena MLA, along with several key local figures, joined Shiv Sena. This move, amidst growing tension, strengthens the party's position in Thane, challenging Sharad Pawar's NCP's regional dominance.
