Sunny Joseph, a seasoned politician and three-time MLA, has stepped into the role of president for the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC). The leadership change occurred on Monday at the party headquarters, marking a strategic move ahead of pivotal local body and state assembly elections.
Joseph took over from K Sudhakaran, who handed over the reins during a well-attended ceremony. Joseph will be flanked by P C Vishnunath, Shafi Parambil, and A P Anil Kumar as working presidents, while Adoor Prakash assumes the role of UDF convener. Joseph wasted little time in critiquing both the BJP and the CPI (M), accusing the BJP of divisive tactics and the CPI (M) of corruption.
Outlining his vision, Joseph emphasized Congress's role as the primary opposition to BJP at the national level. Supported by senior party members, including K C Venugopal and A K Antony, the new leadership aims to reclaim power in Kerala, focusing on unity and public trust to achieve a historic victory in upcoming elections.
