On Tuesday, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav called for the resignation of officials accountable for the tragic Air India crash on June 12 in Ahmedabad.
Addressing journalists in Lucknow, Yadav questioned the lack of accountability following the incident where a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner en route to London crashed shortly after takeoff, tragically killing around 270 passengers and crew members. The crash, which took place at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport and devastated a nearby medical college, has led to public outrage.
Yadav expressed concerns about the safety of air travel and the implications of privatization leading to job insecurity and potentially unqualified appointments in key positions. Stressing that this should not be dismissed as an ordinary issue, he emphasized the need for responsible governance.
