Manish Sisodia, the former deputy chief minister of Delhi, submitted himself for questioning by the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) concerning a purported corruption case. The case involves suspected graft in the construction of classrooms within government schools, as stated by officials. The investigation has also implicated other AAP leaders, including Satyendar Jain, who faced the agency previously on June 6.
The ACB's involvement is backed by an FIR filed on April 30, alleging financial misconduct amounting to Rs 2,000 crore concerning over 12,000 classrooms or semi-permanent structures. Sisodia, however, publicly decried the allegations as a politically driven attempt by the BJP to distract from significant issues pressing the public domain.
Confronting the summons, Sisodia emphasized that no incriminating findings have emerged against him in prior cases, maintaining confidence in his integrity. Dismissing the accusations, he highlighted his intention to present factual evidence to the ACB, while attributing the charges to BJP's politically motivated strategies.
