Tharoor Chooses Ports Over Parliament Debate

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor declined an invitation to speak during the Operation Sindoor debate in Parliament, opting instead to express his desire to address 'The Indian Ports Bill, 2025,' according to party sources on Monday.
Speculation has been rife regarding whether Tharoor, who has previously led delegations to the US among other countries, would be selected as a speaker by Congress, given his enthusiastic approval of the government's actions following a terror attack which has reportedly deteriorated his relations with the party.
As Parliament's Monsoon session faces disruptions, a heated debate is anticipated on the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor, with both ruling and opposition parties expected to take a strong stand on these national security issues.
