Trump Announces New Tariff Strategy Amid Trade Negotiations
President Trump announced plans to impose tariffs between 15% and 20% on countries failing to negotiate trade agreements with the U.S. This decision follows earlier tariffs and will affect hundreds of nations, as the administration prepares to notify them of the new rates starting August 1.

President Donald Trump has announced that the United States is set to implement tariffs ranging between 15% and 20% on nations that do not successfully negotiate trade agreements with Washington. Trump made this statement while meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer at his golf resort in Turnberry, Scotland.
Speaking to reporters, Trump mentioned that the tariffs are likely to fall within that specific range. He indicated that notifications would soon be sent to approximately 200 countries, detailing their expected tariff rates on exports to the U.S.
Previously, in April, Trump enforced an extra 10% tariff on many countries, with additional increases planned from August 1. These measures are part of the administration's broader strategy to adjust trade relationships globally.
