In a pointed critique, Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of attempting to monopolize credit for Operation Sindoor during his parliamentary address. Gogoi alleged that Modi failed to take responsibility for the Pahalgam terror attack and did not counter US President Donald Trump's assertions about mediating peace between India and Pakistan.

Gogoi highlighted Modi's attempt to personally bask in the success of Operation Sindoor, despite it being a collective achievement of the Indian government and armed forces. He chastised the Prime Minister for sidestepping accountability regarding the Pahalgam incident and noted that Modi ignored Trump's multiple statements as a mediator. In contrast, PM Modi characterized the Parliament session as a 'Vijay Utsav,' a celebration of India's military prowess and national solidarity.

During the address, Modi noted the swift and decisive action of the Indian Armed Forces in retaliating against the Pahalgam attack with precision strikes in Pakistan. He expressed gratitude to the citizens for their unwavering support during Operation Sindoor and condemned the Pahalgam attack as a deliberate attempt to incite rioting. Modi asserted his resolve to combat terrorism and promised that the perpetrators would face severe consequences.
