Election officials in Manipur conducted discussions across six districts in July about the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls, according to a statement from an officer on Tuesday.
The meetings took place in Noney, Ukhrul, Kamjong, Kangpokpi, and Thoubal districts, as well as Hiyanglam and Sugnoo in Kakching district, organized by district election officers.
Key topics included rationalizing polling stations and appointing booth-level agents. Political parties were invited to offer input on acceptable voter documents and raise election-related concerns. Joint Chief Electoral Officer Ramananda Nongmeikapam also met with party representatives to prepare for the upcoming electoral roll revision.
