The Telangana Congress is set to launch a significant movement in Delhi from August 5 to 7, demanding swift Presidential assent for the Backward Classes (BC) quota bills that were passed by the state legislature. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy will spearhead this campaign, with the rally expected to gather at Jantar Mantar.

Telangana Congress President B Mahesh Kumar Goud highlighted that the party is not seeking publicity through this assembly, but is focused on achieving an increased reservation for Backward Classes to 42 percent in areas such as education, employment, and local governance. Goud criticized the BJP-led central government for what he termed as 'systematic delay' and 'political obstruction' in processing these crucial pro-BC measures.

In addition to the assembly, party MPs are planning to introduce an adjournment motion in Parliament to bring focus to BC issues. A special train will be organized to transport party supporters to Delhi for participation in this initiative. Meanwhile, the party's 'padayatra', a precursor movement, is underway to raise public awareness of the cause.
