In a sharp critique of the opposition's conduct during Parliament's Monsoon Session, Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has accused them of deliberately obstructing proceedings. Khattar stated that the opposition prioritizes creating noise over discussing public issues in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
The ongoing disputes, especially over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list in Bihar, have led to multiple disruptions. The Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Harivansh, was forced to adjourn the Upper House's sessions following opposition demands for a debate on SIR.
The controversy deepened with INDIA bloc MPs, including Congress's Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, staging protests and labeling SIR as a 'war on democracy'. This session has been marked by heightened tensions and repeated adjournments.
