Bihar Prioritizes Domicile Candidates in Upcoming Teacher Recruitment

Bihar's Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, has mandated the Education Department to prioritize local residents for teaching positions starting from the Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE-4) in 2025. This new policy aims to offer better job opportunities to domicile candidates in Bihar.
The TRE-4 will be conducted in 2025, with TRE-5 following in 2026. Prior to TRE-5, the State Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) will be organized. CM Kumar has emphasized the state's ongoing efforts to enhance educational standards, citing significant teacher appointments since 2005. He announced these amendments on X, highlighting the focus on local employment.
Furthermore, Nitish Kumar has announced a revised honorarium for mid-day meal cooks, boosting their pay from Rs 1,650 to Rs 3,300, and doubling the salary for night watchmen in educational institutions to Rs 10,000. This move is part of the government's initiatives to improve educational infrastructure and employment conditions, with elections expected later this year.
