Abhishek Banerjee, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) national general secretary, expressed his honor at being appointed as the party's leader in the Lok Sabha. He affirmed his dedication to upholding the Constitution's values and fulfilling the aspirations of Bengal's people.
Following his appointment, Banerjee utilized social media to pledge determination in maintaining a strong and unwavering TMC presence in Parliament. He committed to working closely with colleagues to voice opposition to the central government's authoritarianism, emphasizing justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity.
This leadership transition comes as the TMC aims to sharpen its opposition to the BJP-led central government.
