Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is set to make a significant financial contribution to women's empowerment by distributing over Rs 1,8722350 crores to over one crore women beneficiaries. The funds, part of the Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana, will be directly transferred to recipients' bank accounts from Narsinghgarh in Rajgarh district. Each beneficiary will receive Rs 1,500, a combination of the monthly installment of Rs 1,250 and an additional Rs 250 as a Raksha Bandhan Shagun, ahead of the festival.
The Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana, introduced in 2023, is designed to strengthen women's economic conditions, improve their health, and integrate them more into family decision-making. Eligible women, including married, widowed, divorced, or abandoned individuals aged 21 to 59, receive Rs 1,250 monthly. By July 2025, this initiative is projected to incur an expenditure of Rs 6,198.88 crore for the financial year 2025-26.
In addition to the Ladli Behna Yojana, CM Yadav will allocate Rs 43.90 crore to over 28 lakh women associated with the Prime Minister Ujjwala Yojana, non-category beneficiaries of the Ladli Behna scheme, and participants in the Special Backward Tribes Economic Assistance Scheme. During a state-level event in Narsinghgarh, these funds will aid in refilling gas cylinders via a streamlined single-click transfer system. The Chief Minister will further engage with the local community through a scheduled roadshow in Narsinghgarh on the same day.
This effort follows CM Yadav's announcement on July 13, where Rs 1,543.16 crore was previously distributed to 1.27 crore women via the Ladli Behna Yojana. These efforts showcase the state government's commitment to supporting women through various initiatives, including the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana and the Social Security Pension Scheme.
