In a scathing critique of the Election Commission of India, Abu Azmi, a prominent leader of the Samajwadi Party, has raised serious questions about the fairness of the electoral process in Maharashtra. He accuses the commission of blatant bias in favor of the ruling BJP.
Azmi claims that the voter list in the Mankhurd-Shivaji Nagar constituency was manipulated. He asserts that legitimate voters' names were removed and replaced with those of non-residents, just six months before the previous year's elections. He is demanding an urgent audit and immediate corrective measures.
The SP leader cited the 2024 Maharashtra election results as evidence, highlighting the losses of notable Congress figures such as former Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan and Balasaheb Thorat. Azmi insists the public should protest to ensure accountability and protect the democratic process.
