The YSR Congress Party, boasting 11 members in Parliament, has declared its support for the NDA's candidate, C P Radhakrishnan, in the vice presidential race. This backing provides significant momentum to the ruling coalition.
Maddila Gurumoorthy, a Lok Sabha MP, confirmed on Monday the party's decision to support Radhakrishnan, further consolidating the NDA's position. This decision emerged as the opposition hinted at contesting with their own nominee.
Despite not being aligned with either the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance or the INDIA opposition bloc, YSR Congress, under leader Jagan Mohan Reddy, is instrumental. The NDA, having a majority in the electoral college formed by Parliament members, views Radhakrishnan's election as nearly guaranteed.
