Karnataka's Caste Census Controversy: BJP's Stand on Community Division

Karnataka BJP President B Y Vijayendra has accused the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government of pushing an agenda to divide the Veerashaiva-Lingayat community through the 'caste census'.

In a strategic meeting, key BJP figures, including ex-Chief Ministers B S Yediyurappa and Basavaraj Bommai, deliberated on the controversial survey, slated to take place from September 22 to October 7, costing Rs 420 crore.

Vijayendra emphasized unity within the community, stating that senior leaders are tasked with addressing internal confusions and engaging with the All India Veerashaiva Mahasabha to maintain cohesion amidst the government's divisive tactics.
