In a move reflecting rising regional tensions, China has called on the United States to dismantle its recently deployed Typhon missile system in Japan. According to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian, this development poses a significant threat to regional strategic security.
Despite China's pronounced concerns, the US and Japan proceeded with the missile deployment under the premise of joint military drills. Lin emphasized China's strong disapproval, stating that such actions jeopardize regional peace and could potentially lead to an arms race.
The Chinese government demands that the US and Japan reconsider their strategic priorities and remove the missile system to promote regional stability. This follows similar disputes over US military activities in the Philippines, highlighting ongoing security concerns.
