Prime Minister Sushila Karki of Nepal embarked on a diplomatic mission, holding separate meetings with ambassadors from China and the United States to discuss pressing bilateral issues.

The meetings took place at the Prime Minister's office in Singh Durbar, Kathmandu, mere weeks after Karki assumed office as Nepal's first woman prime minister. Her ascent marked the end of a political deadlock following Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli's ouster amid youth-led protests.

During her meeting with Chinese Ambassador Chen Song, Karki reaffirmed Nepal's commitment to the One China policy and expressed optimism about ongoing cooperation in trade, investment, and technology. Meanwhile, US Ambassador Dean Thompson pledged support for Nepal's democratic progress and infrastructure development, highlighting the long-term partnership between both nations.
