India's boxing team ended their 2025 World Boxing Championships journey in Liverpool with notable success, winning four medals, including two golds. Jaismine Lamboria and Minakshi Hooda emerged as world champions in their respective categories.

In a conversation with ANI, Hooda expressed happiness over her gold medal victory, emphasizing the pride it brought to herself and the country. She joined the ITBP in 2021, praising their support for athletes.

The championships saw Minakshi Hooda triumph over Paris 2024 bronze winner Nazym Kyzaibay with a 4-1 decision, marking India's first champions under the new World Boxing body. Three Indian boxers reached the finals, with Nupur Sheoran losing a close 3-2 split decision against Poland's Agata Kaczmarska in the 80+ kg class.

Pooja Rani secured a bronze after a 4-1 semifinal defeat to Emily Asquith of England. Among the 20 Indian participants, prominent boxers like Lovlina Borgohain and Nikhat Zareen also made notable comebacks. Borgohain exited in the 75 kg second round, while Zareen reached the women's 51 kg quarterfinals, narrowly losing to Turkey's Buse Naz Cakiroglu.
