In a significant political revelation, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, supported by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, has accused the BJP of orchestrating a systematic deletion of votes, dubbed 'Vote Chori,' targeting Congress supporters in various constituencies.
Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Gandhi leveled serious allegations against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, accusing him of shielding 'vote chors' who undermine democracy. Gandhi cited the instance of the Aland Assembly constituency, where an attempt to delete 6,018 votes was uncovered.
The Election Commission dismissed these accusations as unfounded, insisting due process was followed. However, Siddaramaiah insists the issue is far more widespread, involving tech-enabled impersonation and systematic deletions in light of upcoming elections, demanding CID access to crucial digital evidence.
