BJP legislator Ravi Shankar Prasad delivered a fierce rebuke to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, charging him with making unfounded 'vote theft' allegations. Prasad insisted that Gandhi often speaks without preparation and spreads falsehoods, particularly pointing to his recent comments regarding Karnataka's alleged voter deletions.
Prasad criticized Gandhi for questioning Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over the alleged removal of over 6000 voters, noting that Kumar was not in office during the 2023 Assembly elections. He accused Gandhi of jeopardizing his own party's candidate in Aland, where Congress secured a narrow victory.
Echoing the Election Commission's rebuttal, Prasad stated that the Crime Investigation Department, which probes such matters, operates under the Karnataka government. Meanwhile, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju linked Gandhi's statements to narratives that resonate with anti-India elements across borders, exacerbating existing tensions.
