In a remarkable address, Sir Richard Moore, outgoing head of Britain's MI6, asserted that Russian President Vladimir Putin has shown no intention of negotiating peace with Ukraine. He described Putin's approach as a show of imperial ambition.
According to Moore, Putin miscalculated the situation, anticipating an easy victory, while underestimating the strength and determination of the Ukrainian people. This misjudgment, Moore suggests, has left the Russian leader overextended.
The comments were made during a speech at the British consulate in Istanbul, marking Moore's departure after a five-year tenure at the helm of MI6, the renowned Secret Intelligence Service of the United Kingdom.
